So I'm using my mom's hot glue gun for everything the past month (or so) and the past few days I've noticed something weird- It gets hot. Fast. So hot in fact that I actually got a second degree burn (I think) that is a big blister and I picked at the blister and now it looks like it could resemble a third degree burn (I'll see if I can get pictures of it later). My question is- do I need to get a new glue gun or can this be easily fixed?
Thanks for any info.

Oh gosh... O.O I hope you're OK. *hugs* I don't really know too much about hot glue guns, but I'd say it might be time for a new one. ^^;

I'm just going to throw out there that it's the glue to skin contact that was the problem and not so much the hot glue gun. You may have noticed the heat more because your not used to having that kind of tempurature on your leg (to my knowledge). Approximately how old is this one? And did the metal tip touch your flesh? There are a lot of variables that could have contributed to the unusual amount of heat... that's why I'm asking questions XD I hope you get better really soon though!!

Okay- I'll go into detail (and I might draw paint pictures if you don't understand).
I was standing up, with long underwear on, gluing seat cushion foam to my leg. I couldn't reach the back of my leg so I got a brilliant idea. Put hot glue on foam- transfer glue to leg. I put glue on foam, but forgot one important variable- gravity. The glue went from the foam to my fingers, NOT my leg. (Anywhere but there) It blistered (JUST the glue, the tip never came near my fingers) and I picked the blister.
End story.
I have a cool scar though! ^-^
